My Candid Moments

I was so excited I got to meet Baby J this weekend.  I think the best part about photographing newborns is that I never have two sessions go the same.  Even when they are so little each baby is their own person and as such has their own likes and dislikes and more importantly their own way of letting you know things.

Baby J is no exception.  He liked being naked and was very content on my bean bag.  I think he had almost convinced his Dad that he needed one for his room already.  He was  a trooper and got through most of my ‘poses’ before he let us know that he was done with being photographed in his own unique way.

I always try to use personal items whenever possible in my photographs.   So to show case Dad’s love of hockey we had planned to photograph Baby J in a few of Dad’s favorite Hockey Jerseys.  He had just been put into Dad’s Juniors Jersy — when you guessed it he pooped.  put him into Dad’s High school jersey and taken a couple of shots, when….. it happened Baby J decided to poop. That was the end of it for him!

I am always amazed at how fun each session is, the session I had today was no exception.  I was blessed to be able to capture Mr. C for his six month portraits.  He is the same little guy you saw in this post.  He’s a red head and as the Mom to two little red-heads, it’s not any wonder I have a small soft spot for them.  He was a trooper fighting through is teething and wanting to put everything in his mouth to give me a few grins and giggles.  I hope your Mom and Dad like their sneak peak Mr. C!

I love doing one year old sessions.  They typically NEVER go as planned and always go according the the wishes of the one year old.  That is when the ‘magic’ happens.  It is the moment that you let them direct the session you get the biggest smiles and the most natural candid expressions.  At this age the expressions are genuine, weather they are happy or not! 

So, for me, the excitment is that the same combination of things will never yield the same results twice.   I think the most challenging part of any one year old session is to get them looking at you – they would prefer to explore and are always going the opposite direction of where you are.

Little Miss M – was so full of life and giggles – just what being  ONE is all about!  I had a great time watching her explore and give us some amazing laughs as she played.  I was also very excited that I got to try out one of two new chairs that I have — this find has to be my FAVORITE all time chair for this age.   I hope to get your gallery to you soon little Miss. M!

One of the best parts of this job, is that you often get to see the families you work with year after year.  In doing this, you watch them grow and change, and sometimes you are lucky enough to be there when they add to their families!  I have been doing image of the C family for nearly two years now, and just last week they expanded from a wonderful family of four to a family of five!

Today I had the chance to stop over and meet their latest addition, Mr. T!  He is just so adorable!  I could not wait to get home and start to upload the images from his session.  I thought I would share a few, just quickly with you!

Meet Baby D -  He was so sweet and angelic.  I could not believe how calm he was with two older sisters running around and fawning over him constantly!  I hope you like your sneak peak, more to come later this week!

It felt like January flew by this year!  It was cold, as it always is, but between working and the various illnesses that cropped up this month, I blinked and the month vanished!  This weekend I did a session for a one year old, one for my kids and a newborn session,I am flat out exhausted. 

I ended the month by doing one year pictures with little Miss B! She is adorable and very expressive.  I love that she thought that the Thomas Trains were more fun the the Tea Set and her doll ~ Here are just two — for now! 

My baby planners have all grown up.  They are now all one — and it makes me sad. I can not wait for the next set — as I LOVE babies and watching them grow~

Where is all the time going??

Another one of my baby planners is graduating, he turned one two weeks ago.  I remember all to well my  first visit with Mr. N.  He  REFUSED to sleep.  He was a go getter right from the start. He made me work for every shot!

Here he is today — still an energetic little boy!

This little gal and I have a long history, it started  a year ago when she was seven days old.  I honestly can not believe she’s now a year old~

Little Miss H – THEN

This is my pal little Miss H today — we did her one year session and she truly has a magical smile! I can see why her Momma is so smitten with her!

I have been photographing Miss H since she was born. She is exactly eight months younger then my daughter! My how does the time fly by.  I am so blessed to know her and her Mom! I hope I continue to take her photographs as time goes on!  She is now the most expressive little girl and so fun to be around!
