About a Boy (mine on monday): Minneapolis Child Photographer

He is what started this journey into being a photographer.  This boy.  He changed my life. Until he entered the world I was very happy as a librarian and that was all I wanted to do was work in  a library.  I was laid off just before I learned I was pregnant, and I remember being 7 months pregnant and doing an interview for a job.  I was excited about the job, I wanted that job and I was heart broken when I didn’t get that job.  Then I had my boy. I realized when he was six weeks old, I would not have been ready to go back to work, I would not have been happy.

So I started to think of what I liked to do, what was I good at and what would allow me to stay home.  I had always loved photography, enjoyed it.  I am not sure what motivated me but sometime around the summer he was three — I decided to go for it and start a business.  To take my hobby and passion and make it into a business.  It took another year before I was really ready (something about getting pregnant and having Miss K shortly after I figured out I wanted to do this).on location child portaits

    Beautiful. Love that last image of your son. I’m glad you found your calling through photography. Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes hard to see when you’re going through it, but it’s obviously clear now. You were meant to be a photographer!

    oh, he is gorgeous. I was the similar with my first, took 6mths maternity leave thinking I’d go back. But one look at him and there was no way I could ever leave him :)
