My Candid Moments

I had another newborn baby boy last week.

It seems like the baby boys are out numbering the little girls this spring. I have photographed three and have a session with a fourth and maybe a fifth newborn baby boys in the next couple of weeks.  If you know if any newborn little girls that want to be photographed, I could use one or two to balance out the boys I am doing right now!  I have some amazing little pink hats sitting in storage!

Mr. T was the sweetest guy.  He was a trooper too!  He gave us nothing but amazing little expressions as he slept.  However, when he was done, well he was done!  LOL.

I know C Family your gallery is coming…. but life got hectic this week.  I am certain you understand all about that with the addition of Mr. T.  So until I can get your gallery up later this weekend. I thought I would post another adorable image of your little one!~

It seems like March always produces the most interesting weather. It can be snowing two feet one day and a few days later we are calling up the HVAC guy because our A/C has stopped working.  To me this month is a sign that we are finally rounding the cornor and I am excited to think about all the warm weather and outdoor fun to come!

I love the change of seasons, mostly because it seems like everyday provides a new adventure.  This image was taken during a snow-storm last March.  It is one of my favorites reminding me how fickle this month can be.

One of the best parts of this job, is that you often get to see the families you work with year after year.  In doing this, you watch them grow and change, and sometimes you are lucky enough to be there when they add to their families!  I have been doing image of the C family for nearly two years now, and just last week they expanded from a wonderful family of four to a family of five!

Today I had the chance to stop over and meet their latest addition, Mr. T!  He is just so adorable!  I could not wait to get home and start to upload the images from his session.  I thought I would share a few, just quickly with you!

Today I am trying something new. Something that I spent the entire day working on and trying to make work.

I have spent the past few weeks encouraging J as he learns Karate. I know that he will not always be the best at everything, but I do want him to learn that you can take “failure” and use it to improve. That doing your best is what true success is and that not giving up is a huge part of that.

So today — I spent the entire morning, afternoon and a good part of the evening trying to figure out how to insert this album into my blog. I really hope this worked because, well after all that hard work and not giving up I want to have something to show for it, besides the hair I pulled out.

I have thousands of photos of my children, the sad part is that I a bit behind in processing them and printing them out.  I tend to be self critical, aren’t we all, of my photography.  This means that I tend to take the images, but put of editing them for fear I will let the technical problems overwhelm the fact that I just captured a precious moment. 

Fellow photographer, Ellen Benson, has issued a series of creative challenges on her blog.  This is great for me because I need that pressure of “getting” something done to help me accomplish things.  This week’s challenge was to embrace a mistake.  Trust me I make plenty with my photography, but sometimes the “mistake’ turns into something great!

Each of these images has it’s own “technical issues” which could be called mistakes, but each of them has something that just makes my heart melt and reminds me of my children and how they are!

Dream assignment –

Leveno and Microsoft are offering the chance for a dream assignment.  Which got me to thinking what would my “dream” be?????

Well in a nut shell I would love to photograph babies from all over the world, to show how different yet wondefully alike we all are!
